Trip to Terelj National Park with excursion to Chinggis Khhan's Statue Complex

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights

This trip is a wonderful opportunity to explore the stunning beauty of Khan Khentii mountain range, unique rock formations of Terelj National Park, experience the hospitality of Mongolian nomads and have an active adventure within a day.

Except from exploring the natural beauty and experience the culture of nomads, you can experience the serenity of staying in Mongolian ger – the authentic dwelling of nomads.

 

Day 1

In the morning transfer to Terelj National park 70 km away. On the way visit to Chinggis Khaan’s statue. At the Terelj Tourist Camp time is given to set up the gers and freshen up before lunch. After lunch excursion to the beautiful Turtle Rock to be followed by a short hiking tour to the top of the Overlooking Hill to have a panoramic view on Terelj National Park. Visit to Ariyabal Buddhist monastery. Dinner. Overnight stay in ger.

 

Day 2

In the morning a visit to a nomadic family to learn the authentic lifestyle of Mongolian no[1]mads and to try traditional dairy food. One hour horse riding. Admire the sunset and bright shining night stars in the wide steppe. Overnight stay in ger.

 

Day 3

After breakfast transfer to Ulan Bator.

The Terelj National Park is set in a spectacular valley only an hour’s drive from Ulan Bator. Visitors can view fascinating rock formations against a backdrop of pine-covered mountains. Guests can stay overnight in a snug Mongolian yurts or gers offering comfortable guest rooms with all modern conveniences. It is an ideal place for taking a trip on horseback along the Tuul River or in the valley and visit a local family, to explore nomad’s lifestyle. The Turtle Rock created by nature, Ariyapala monastery and the lifestyle of nomads are the key attractions.
