Kazan - Bolgar - Sviyazhsk

Duration: 5 days / 4 nights

Day 1, Kazan

Arrival in Kazan, meeting with a local English speaking guide, transfer to hotel, check in since 14:00, free time, overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2, Kazan

Breakfast at hotel, guided city tour from 9.00 till 12.00: Peter and Paul Cathedral, Kazan Family center, river embankment with the views of the coast of the Kazan Riviera, Kazan Arena Stadium, Millenium Bridge, Liberty Square, Ekiyat puppet theatre, Millennium Park, Kamala Theatre, University, Kaban Lake.

12.00 – 13.00 Lunch at the local cafe
13.00 – 14.00 Excursion to Old Tatar Sloboda
14.00 – 15.00 Excursion to Chack-chack museum
15.30 – 17.00 Excursion to Kazan Kremlin, major historical citadel in the 16th -18th centuries, historical Qol-Sarif Mosque and Minarets, the Square of Freedom, magnificent Orthodox Churches and Cathedrals, President’s Palace.
19.00 Transfer to the hotel, free time, and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3, Kazan, Bolgar

Breakfast at hotel, whole day excursion to the ancient city of Bolgar, the Northern Mecca and historical homeland of the Tatars, the centre of Islam on the territory of the Volga region.

09.00 Departure for Bolgar

12.00 Arrival in Bolgar

12.00 – 13.00 Lunch at the local cafe

13.30 – 16.30 Excursion to the Bolgar Museum: Bolgar ancient settlement, Museum of Bolgar Civilization, Sign of Islam, the ruins of the ancient city, the White Mosque with the Big Minaret, the East and North Mausoleums, the Orthodox Church of St. Nicolas, the ruins of five baths, the Black Chamber and the ruins of the Khan’s Tomb.

17.00 Excursion to the White Mosque, the complex Ak Mechet resembling Indian Taj Mahal.

Back to Kazan by 20.00, free time, and overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 4, Kazan, Sviyazhsk  

Breakfast at hotel, a half day tour to the UNESCO Island Town of Sviyazhsk with the stop at the Temple of All Religions (outside view) on the way back to Kazan.

14.00 Lunch at the local cafe.

Free time in Bauman Street, shopping.

16.30 Transfer to the hotel, free time, and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5, Kazan    

Breakfast at hotel, meeting with a guide at the hotel lobby, transfer to the airport.
